The Dalai Lama to Make 20-Day Visit to America

Dharamshala, India -- His Holiness the Dalai Lama is expected to leave Ladakh for New Delhi tomorrow, from where he will proceed on about a 20-day visit to the United States.
In the first leg of his journey, His Holiness will visit Idaho and meet with the governor, senates and congressmen of the state.
On the fourth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, His Holiness will give "the healing address" at the Wood River Valley High School Football Stadium, which will reportedly be broadcast live on CNN.
He will also address a gathering of business bigwigs, including CEOs and investment officers.
At the Wood River Valley Stadium, accompanied by the governor of Idaho, His Holiness will give a special address to the children of Idaho, "laying the foundation for the future", followed by an audience for the Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhist people.
In Tucson, Arizona, His Holiness will give a three-day public talk on the "guide to Bodhisattva's way of life", along with talks on "contemplative practices" and "creating peace in a violent world".
In the third week of September, His Holiness will visit Austin in Texas and give a public talk on "individual responsibility in the global community".
His Holiness will also visit the University of Texas and meet with its president, faculty members and students.
In Houston, His Holiness will address a meeting on "spiritualism and science in the modern world", followed by a public talk next day on the "meaning of compassion in the everyday life".
As requested, in New York, His Holiness will give Avolokeshwara initiation to the Vietnamese community, followed by a set of teachings.
At the Rutgers University in New Jersey, His Holiness will be awarded an honorary degree, followed by his talk on "war, peace and reconciliation".
His Holiness is expected to grant an audience at New York's Madison Square Garden to the Tibetan, Mongolian and Himalayan Buddhist people, who will put up a cultural show celebrating the 70th birthday of His Holiness.
His Holiness is also expected to attend a debate, "Tibetan studies on the modern research: Columbia as pioneer", at the Columbia University.
