Frankfurt Sri Lankans to celebrate Vesak with traditional Pirith Ceremony

Frankfurt, Germany -- The Sri Lankan community in Frankfurt am Main, Germany are celebrating the Vesak Festival with a traditional overnight Pirith Ceremony to be held at Phat Hue Pagoda in Frankfurt on 28th May 2010.
The event is organized by the Sri Lankan community in Germany and the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Frankfurt with the guidance of Ven. Thero Bhante Punnaratana. This is the third year of this annual Pirith Ceremony at Phat Hue Pagoda on Vesak Full Moon Poya Day.
Phat Hue Pagoda's Abbott Thich Thien Son and Ven. Punnaratana Thero are instrumental in developing the Buddhist community in Germany. Sri Lankan native, Ven. Punnaratana Thero, a respected multi-linguist who is fluent in German language, has been a prominent figure in the Frankfurt Sri Lankan community, offering his valuable support to the Consulate General in Frankfurt for improving relationships among the Sri Lankan and German citizens through the peaceful path of Buddhism.
