International Youth Buddhist meet to be organised

LALITPUR, Nepal -- The fourth International Youth Buddhist Conference is set to be held in Nepal from 27 to 31 March, 2007.

The conference organized by the Youth Boudha team will be inaugurated in Lalitpur and will also be organized in Kathmandu and Lumbini amidst various programmes, said chairman of the Jaankari Mandal, Sanuraj Shakya.

At a press conference organized here to inform the press about the preparations for the conference, Chairman Shakya said altogether.

300 participants including 50 representatives of 18 countries as well as national representatives are expected to take part in the conference .

The conference is mainly concerned with creating youths' interest in the Buddhist religion and the use of Buddhist philosophy in the world peace.

There is also programme to present 80 Buddhist images to Thai King, Bhumibol as gift while the conference is getting underway.
