Special lecture on ‘Tamil Buddhist’

Colombo, Sri Lanka -- The special lecture at the Chennai Wesak festival jointly organised by the Sri Lanka Maha Bodhi Society and the Sri Lanka Deputy High Commissioner’s office of South India will be delivered by professor Sunil Ariyaratne on the topic ‘Tamil Buddhist’ on May 30 afternoon at the Chennai Maha Bodhi Centre.
Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne of the Sri Jayewardenepura University had done wide research during a long period on ‘Tamil Buddhist’.
The book ‘Tamil Buddhist’ based on his researches has won wide reader acclaim.
A plethora of matters of high importance to Sri Lanka and South India will be highlighted by the investigative lecture of professor Ariyaratne.
The Wesak commemoration lecture, parallel to the Chennai Wesak festival was inaugurated in 2003. Erudite personalities of Sri Lanka like Professor Sudarshan Seneviratne, Dr. Shiran Deraniyagala, Professor K.N.O. Dharmadasa, Professor S. Padmanathan and Professor J.B. Dissanayake have delivered lectures of this nature.
