Museum of Buddhist Art holds embroidery exhibition

Seoul, South Korea -- Currently, a very interesting embroidery exhibition is taking place at the Museum of Korean Buddhist Art. The onlookers are mesmerized to see pieces of astonishing embroidery, which reflects excellent craftsmanship of artisans. The expo will continue to entice art lovers till September 28.
The extensive fair showcases almost 30 specimen of embroidery that are rich, exotic and royal, with high influence of Buddhism; as a result most of the symbols that are being used are taken from Buddhist culture.
Materials like gold and silver threads, pearls, marbles, gem stones and costly metals are mainly picked up by the artisans of Myanmar for creating amazing work of art.
The first and second floor of the Museum are dedicated for making spectators aware about the life and all the good deeds that were done by Sakyamuni.
Along with it, six artworks including sculptures and paintings from Myanmar are also showcased for providing a complete overview of the life, culture and religious beliefs.
The purpose behind holding this opulent expo is to bring forth the unique Buddhist culture in South East Asian countries through the medium of art and craft.
This is the second Southeast Asian Buddhist art exhibition that the Museum has organized, last year ‘Laotian Buddhist Sculpture Exhibit’ was held here.
