<< Youth organizations will gather in Kuala Lumpur on April 30, 2005 to commemorate Venerable's Dr K Sri Dhammananda 53 years of Dhammaduta

In a statement released to the Buddhist Channel today, a BMSMYS spokesperson said that the event was put together for the following purpose:-

  1. To acknowledge and commemorate Chief Reverend's, Dr. K. Sri Dhammananda's  53 years of service to the community and to the Buddhist youth.
  2. To provide an opportunity for Chief Reverend to address the Malaysian Buddhist youths in a productive dialogue between them.
  3. To promote networking and mingling between the various Buddhist youth groups.

D2Y and BMSMYS said that their members felt indebted to Chief Reverend's for his years of contribution to the community especially to the Buddhist Youths.

"Over the past five decades, he has touched the lives of many as he toiled tirelessly to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the community and to propagate the Timeless Teachings of the Buddha. It is therefore a rare and valuable occasion indeed when such a distinguished leader meets the next generation of Buddhist leaders to discuss and share their thoughts and vision with each other.  Such an event will allow Chief Reverend to impart his guidance and direction unto the youth for the future while allowing the youth groups to share personal concerns and issues with the Chief Reverend and each other," the statement says.

During the event, promotional booths for various Buddhist Youth organisations will be set up to conduct Youth Outreach to all attendees of the event. Attendees are invited to participate in the Youth Outreach programme to educate & create greater awareness to all on the good Dhammadutta work done by fellow Buddhist Youth in their respective areas and organisation.
