Tibetan lama leads Buddhist retreat

Peshawbestown, Michigan (USA) -- Lama Lobsang Palden, a Buddhist lama from Tibet and spiritual director of Blue Beryl Dharma Center in Chicago, will lead the center's third annual Medicine Buddha Retreat at Eagles Ridge Conference Center at Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge.

The retreat will be held Aug. 6 through 9. It will include traditional Tibetan Buddhist ceremonies for healing illness, purifying karma and clearing negative obstacles. The public is welcome.

Tuition is $350, which includes meals. The cost of lodging is not included and Leelanau Sands Lodge offers discounted room rates. Scholarships and work/study opportunities also are available.
