List of monasteries raided by Myanmar's security forces as at September 28, 2007

Yangon, Myanmar -- The following is a list of identified monasteries which have been attacked and sacked by militia forces from September 25 - 28. Numerous monks have been rounded up and taken away to unspecified destinations.

1) Ngway Kyar Yan monastery, South Okkalapa township, Rangoon. Raided on 26 September. More than 100 monks arrested.

2) Maggin monastery, Thingyangyun- Rgn, Raided on 26 September, 4 monks and 4 people monks arrested.

3) Moe Gound monastery, MoeGound Pagoda in Yan Kin township, Rangoon;Raided on 26 September.

4) Pauk Myaing monastery, Chan Mya Thasi township, Mandalay. Raided on 27 September, 40 monks arrested

5) THein Daw Gyi monastery, Banmaw township Kachin, Raided on 26 September, more than 100 monks arrested.

6) Khaymarthiri monastery, Myintkyina township Kachin, Raided on 26 September, 42 monks arrested

7) Yazana monastery, Myintkyina township, Raided on 26 September, 90 monks arrested.

8) Wintho monastery, Myintkyina township Kachin, Raided on 26 September, 29 monks arrested.

9) Netgyikone monastery, Moe Hnyin township Kachin, Raided on 26 September, 26 monks arrested.

10) Theim Phyu monastery, Bo Tha Htaung Twonship, Raided on 26, September

11) Minnadar monastery, Dawbon township, Rangoon, Raided on 28 September

12) Thei Pan monastery, Bahan township, Raided on 28 September

13) Net Gyi Kone monastery, Moe Hnyin township, Kachin, Raided on 25 September.
