Former chief justice of the Utah Supreme Court is Buddhist teacher

Deseret, Utah (USA) -- Former chief justice of the Utah Supreme Court Michael Zimmerman received the Shiho Dharma Transmission from Genpo Roshi at the Jewish Community Center in Salt Lake City Sunday.

The public ceremony, which followed one Saturday night, signified Zimmerman's inheritance of the Soto-Zen lineage to become a Buddhist teacher and priest.
Zimmerman was also given various gifts and documents by Genpo Roshi at the public ceremony.
