The Buddhist Channel, Feb 1, 2014

New book takes a rational and critical approach answering various questions asked about Buddhism in a detailed, coherent manner.

Colombo, Sri Lanka -- Author Yalith Wijesurendra grew up questioning everything, including Buddhist beliefs. He later read so much about Buddhism and sought answers from the Buddhist monks. In his new publication, “Buddhist Answers: For the Critical Questions”, he provides detailed answers for the critical and philosophical questions about this particular belief.

This book is the result of the author’s extreme hard work researching into the lengthy Tripitaka, the doctrine of Lord Buddha.

Because of thorough rational approach, this process requires presenting scientific evidence. Readers will be amazed to learn the 2500 years old teachings by Lord Buddha which gives detailed, accurate explanations about cosmology, origin of life, biology, etc. It explores the truth behind Buddhism and its philosophy.

It also offers valuable teachings of Buddha which would be extremely helpful for those wanting to live a trouble-free, peaceful and spiritually fulfilled lives. This book can address the debate between rationalist atheists and theist religious people, regarding science, reason, morality and religion.

Taking a rational critical approach, “Buddhist Answers: For the Critical Questions” answers various questions asked about Buddhism in a detailed, coherent manner. The author did his level best to avoid personal opinions and to provide answers by directly referring to various discourses in Tripitaka. This book plays a vital role in the international propagation of Buddhism. Buddhist missionaries can also use it as a handbook to answer the various philosophical questions which they encounter.

Through this literary work, readers will be able to clarify their doubts and gain better knowledge about Buddhism while they practically apply its teachings in their lives.
